Trichet seeks to quell growing speculation over ECB rate cut
TOKYO, Japan - European Central Bank President Jean-Claude Trichet speaks in an interview with Kyodo News and other Japanese media in Tokyo on Feb. 9. He indicated that the bank would not necessarily ease its monetary grip in step with moves by the United States and Britain, in an apparent effort to quell growing market speculation about a rate cut.
