TOKYO, Japan - Lt. Gen. Bruce Wright, the top commander of U.S. forces in Japan, speaks to reporters in Tokyo on Feb. 14. Kelly apologizes over death of Japanese woman in Yokosuka

YOKOSUKA, Japan - Rear Adm. James Kelly (L), commander of the U.S. Naval Forces Japan, apologizes to Yokosuka Mayor Ryoichi Kabaya at the Yokosuka city hall in Kanagawa Prefecture on Jan. 6 over the death of a Japanese woman in the city. A 21-year-old U.S. sailor is being held in confinement at the U.S. naval base in Yokosuka in connection with the incident.

CHATAN, Japan - The family of 13-year-old Tsutomu Zakimi, who died last month, returns to Chatan, Okinawa Prefecture, on July 7 with his ashes. Police arrested two boys for allegedly killing Zakimi and abandoning his body in a cemetery in the town and a girl on suspicion of helping the two boys.
