Rightist kills self with handgun, bears letter to Fukuda on China ties
TOKYO, Japan - Police officers and rescuers at work on a street just outside the Diet building in Tokyo where a man, believed to be an 58-year-old rightist from Osaka, shot himself with a pistol in the morning of March 5, according police. The man a bore letter to Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda on Japan's diplomacy with China. Police say he died from wounds to the head.
