BOJ chief nominee Tanami pledges to secure bank's independence

TOKYO, Japan - Koji Tanami, the government's nominee for the post of Bank of Japan governor, makes a policy speech at a House of Representatives panel, pledging to secure the central bank's independence from the government when making monetary policy decisions.
