Geminid meteor shower 2022

A Geminid meteor streaks across the sky above the equestrian statue of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of the Turkish Republic, in Kushimoto, Wakayama Pref., in western Japan on Dec. 14, 2022. The statue is a token of friendship between Japan and Turkey after Japan transported home the surviving sailors of the Turkish frigate Ertugrul which sank in the 1890 crash off the Japanese town.
