Türkiye on Wednesday raised the euro-lira exchange rate for medicine prices by 36.77 percent, the country's Official Gazette said on Wednesday, following a supply problem in pharmaceutical products.
The euro fixed rate will be applied as 10.75 Turkish lira for medicine prices, according to the new calculation, which is still below the market rate of 19.85 lira per euro.
As the gap between the pharmaceutical euro exchange rate and the real euro exchange rate widened, there were problems in the supply of medicines. Turkish citizens were hardly reaching many drugs such as antibiotics, painkillers and fever reducers in the past few months.
