25-yen gas tax to be reinstated Thursday

TOKYO, Japan - Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda speaks at a news conference at the Prime Minister's Office in Tokyo on April 30 after the House of Representatives overrode the opposition-controlled House of Councillors and passed a bill to reinstate a 25-yen per liter gasoline tax. The tax, which expired March 31, will take effect May 1.
