Sumo: Kotooshu becomes 1st European to win Emperor's Cup

TOKYO, Japan - Bulgarian ozeki Kotooshu's father Stefanov Mahlyanov raises his hands in victory in the stands of Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo on May 24 after Kotooshu clinched the title at the Summer Grand Sumo Tournament with an unbeatable 13-1 record on the 14th day of the 15-day meet. Kotooshu, whose real name is Kaloyan Mahlyanov, is the first European wrestler to win an Emperor's Cup.
