Lower house OKs bill to allow victims to observe juvenile trials
TOKYO, Japan - Members of the House of Representatives on June 3 vote overwhelmingly to pass a bill revising the Juvenile Law to allow victims of juvenile crimes and their relatives to observe the basically closed-door trials of minors. The legislation was supported by the ruling coalition of the Liberal Democratic Party and the New Komeito party as well as the main opposition Democratic Party of Japan.
