Religious leaders meet in Hokkaido ahead of G-8 summit
SAPPORO, Japan - Religious leaders representing Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Islam and Zoroastrianism meet at the Sapporo Convention Center in Sapporo on July 2, the first day of a two-day World Religious Leaders Summit for Peace. They will discuss eradicating war and poverty as well as climate change and terrorism, and present proposals on these issues to the July 7-9 Group of Eight summit to be held in the Lake Toya resort in Hokkaido.
