Toyota cuts global sales target for 2009 to 9.7 mil. units

TOKYO, Japan - Toyota Motor Corp. President Katsuaki Watanabe responds to questions from reporters in Tokyo on Aug. 28. Japan's largest automaker revised downward its global sales forecast for 2009, pushing back its target of becoming the world's first automaker to sell more than 10 million vehicles a year amid slowing U.S. and European demand.
