Obama scores historic victory in U.S. presidential election

CHICAGO, United States - Democrat Barack Obama declares victory in the U.S. presidential election in Chicago, Illinois, on Nov. 4. Obama, 47, a first-time senator from Illinois, trounced Republican John McCain to become the first African-American to be elevated to the highest office in U.S. politics.
