New BOJ operation to provide 3 tril. yen to firms: Shirakawa
TOKYO, Japan - Bank of Japan Governor Masaaki Shirakawa speaks during a news conference at the central bank's head office in Tokyo on Dec. 2 after an extraordinary meeting of the BOJ's Policy Board. The board decided to introduce emergency measures to facilitate corporate financing, including the launch of a new fund-supply operation that will funnel an estimated 3 trillion yen into companies suffering from the credit crunch.
