Masuzoe seeks tobacco tax hike to finance social security costs

TOKYO, Japan - Health, Labor and Welfare Minister Yoichi Masuzoe talks with Finance Minister Shoichi Nakagawa at the Finance Ministry in Tokyo on Dec. 4. During the meeting, Masuzoe called for raising the tobacco tax to partly finance ballooning social security costs in rapidly aging Japan.
