Canon postpones construction of camera plant in Nagasaki

TOKYO, Japan - Hiroyuki Wakasa, president of Nagasaki Canon Inc., a camera-manufacturing unit of Japanese camera maker Canon Inc., announces postponement of a plan to build a plant in Nagasaki Prefecture at the Nagasaki prefectural government building in Nagasaki on Dec. 17 due to sharply falling demand for digital cameras amid the global economic slowdown.
