Tampa infielder Iwamura hopes to make mark in majors

TOKYO, Japan - Japanese infielder Akinori Iwamura expressed relief at being signed to a three-year deal worth $7.7 million by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and is targeting a .300 batting average in his first season in the major leagues. He made the remarks at a press conference in Tokyo on Dec. 16.
