N. Korean capital gears up for leader's birthday
PYONGYANG, North Korea - Slogans wishing North Korean Leader Kim Jong Il good health are seen in Pyongyang on Feb. 15 as North Korea gears up for his birthday, holding commemorative events and adding finishing touches to decorations. Kim will turn 67 on Feb. 16. ''We pray for the great general's good health,'' says a sign written in red against yellow, put up near a bridge across the Taedong River which runs through Pyongyang. While such signs have been spotted in the North Korean capital in the past, this year they follow international reports about health problems for Kim that surfaced last year.
