Budget deliberations stall after Nakagawa's resignation
TOKYO, Japan - Photo shows an empty room in the parliamentary building where the House of Representatives Budget Committee was supposed to hold deliberations on a fiscal 2009 budget on Feb. 18. Deliberations on the budget stalled the same day, with the opposition camp boycotting the panel and demanding that Prime Minister Taro Aso attend to explain the resignation of Finance Minister Shoichi Nakagawa the previous day.
