Hawkers hoping to see Japan's statute of limitations abolished

TOKYO, Japan - William Hawker (R), 56, the visiting father of slain British woman Lindsay Ann Hawker, shakes hands on March 25 in Tokyo with members of a group of Japanese families of unresolved murder case victims who are seeking abolishment of Japan's statute of limitations.                       Father of slain British woman visits police to inquire on case

                      CHIBA, Japan - Holding a photo of his slain daughter Lindsay, William Hawker of Britain sobs after a visit to the Gyotoku police station in Chiba Prefecture on Sept. 16 to inquire about the police investigation into the murder, which took place in March last year. Hawker's T-shirt is imprinted with the photo of the murder suspect, Tatsuya Ichihashi. Lindsay, a 22-year-old English-language teacher, was found murdered in Ichihashi's apartment in Ichikawa.
