'Battleship' island opened to public for 1st time in 35 yrs
NAGASAKI, Japan - Former islanders and sightseers walk around the now uninhabited Hashima Island off the southwestern Japan prefecture of Nagasaki on April 22. The city of Nagasaki allowed people to make a one-day trip to the tiny island, nicknamed Gunkanjima (battleship island), the same day for the first time in 35 years.
