Nezammafi of Iran awarded Japanese prize for rookie novelist
TOKYO, Japan - Shirin Nezammafi of Iran speaks at a news conference in Tokyo on May 8 after being awarded the 108th Bungakukai Shinjinsho, a literary prize for newcomers, for her novel written in Japanese, titled ''Shiroi Kami'' (white paper). The 29-year-old Nezammafi is the second nonnative Japanese to win the prize following Chinese novelist Yang Yi.
