Seven Eleven to shoulder 15% of costs in disposing of unsold items
TOKYO, Japan - Seven-Eleven Japan Co. President Ryuichi Isaka speaks during a news conference in Tokyo on June 23. The nation's biggest convenience store chain operator said it will introduce a new system on July 1 in which it will shoulder 15 percent of the commodity cost of unsold products such as boxed lunches that are disposed of after their expiry dates at its franchise stores.
