Synchronized swimming: Japan 5th in worst worlds result
ROME, Italy - The Japanese team performs in the synchronized swimming team technical routine final at the world championships in Rome on July 19. The eight-woman team could only manage fifth place, leaving the country without a medal in a team event for the first time at the worlds. Russia won its fifth straight gold followed by Spain with silver and China taking the bronze. Canada was fourth.
