OSAKA, Japan - An HRP-4C (L), a ''female'' humanoid robot developed by a national institute, and well-known Japanese bridal fashion designer Yumi Katsura (R) pose for photographers on July 22. The robot walked on a catwalk as a model for wedding gowns designed by Katsura in her show at an Osaka hotel on July 22.

                    TSUKUBA, Japan - The humanoid robot HPR-4C developed by the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology looks surprised during a demonstration in Tsukuba, Ibaraki Prefecture, on March 16. The robot, designed to look like a young Japanese woman, is 158 centimeters tall, weighs 43 kilograms and walks like a fashion model. The robot will make its debut during Japan Fashion Week in Tokyo scheduled for March 23-29.
