Koga reaches 50 backstroke final, Irie dumped out
ROME, Italy - Japan's Junya Koga waves to spectators after qualifying second fastest for the final of the 50 meters at the world championships in Rome on Aug. 1. The newly crowned men's 100-meter backstroke world champion touched in 24.29 seconds, bettering his own national record by 0.16 second.
