Green car promotes clean election

KYOTO, Japan - An electric car with a sign publicizing the Aug. 30 House of Representatives election is seen in Kyoto on Aug. 21. The eco-friendly vehicle is one of five electric cars bought by the city government in July. City officials said the municipality is using the vehicle in the hope of making both the air and the election ''clean.''
