Japan successfully launches new rocket
TANEGASHIMA ISLAND, Japan - An H-2B rocket successfully launches from Tanegashima Space Center in Kagoshima Prefecture shortly after 2 a.m. on Sept. 11, 2009. The rocket was carrying an unmanned transportation vehicle to be used to supply the International Space Station, according to the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, or JAXA.
