'Tetsujin 28-go' statue unveiled in Kobe
KOBE, Japan - A statue of ''Tetsujin 28-go,'' or Iron Man No. 28, is unveiled at a park in Kobe's Nagata Ward on Sept. 28, 2009. The 15-meter-high, 50-ton iron statue, which is modeled after the character from the ''Tetsujin 28-go'' comic series written by the late Mitsuteru Yokoyama from Kobe, was constructed as part of efforts to help revitalize local areas hardest hit by the 1995 Great Hanshin Earthquake. A ceremony to mark the completion of the statue will be held on Oct. 4.
