JR West to set up investigative panel on improper access to info

OSAKA, Japan - West Japan Railway Co. President Takayuki Sasaki speaks during a news conference in Osaka on Sept. 29, 2009. Sasaki said his company will set up a panel of outside investigators to look into how and why its officials approached the governmental railway accident investigation panel and obtained a draft report in advance on the cause of a 2005 fatal derailment that claimed the lives of more than 100 people.
