Top court rejects claim on vote-value disparity in 2007 election
TOKYO, Japan - Photo shows a session of the Supreme Court on Sept. 30, 2009. The top court ruled in the session that the 2007 upper house election was valid, rejecting a claim by lawyers that a disparity in the relative weight of some votes in the election was large enough to violate the Constitution, which states all votes are equal.
