Wooden charms burned at Narita event

NARITA, Japan - Priests toss wooden charms onto a fire during the annual Osamefuda Otakiage event at Naritasan Shinshoji Temple in Narita, Chiba Prefecture, on Dec. 28, 2009. A total of 50,000 talismans, dedicated to the temple this year, were burned in the event to thank the temple's Buddhist icon for help.
