260-kg tuna offered at shrine for business prosperity
NISHINOMIYA, Japan - A child held up by an adult puts a coin atop a 260-kilogram tuna offered at the Nishinomiya Shrine, which enshrines the god of business prosperity, in Nishinomiya, Hyogo Prefecture, on Jan. 8, 2010. The tuna was offered by a local marine products wholesalers' group to the shrine and worshippers placed coins on its body and prayed for economic fortune as an annual event that started in 1970.
