Panasonic to challenge Samsung in energy, 3-D TVs

OSAKA, Japan - Panasonic Corp. President Fumio Otsubo speaks at a news conference in Osaka on Jan. 8, 2010. The Japanese electronic giant said it aims to use its merger with Sanyo Electric Co. to accelerate expansion in energy and green products as well as its new 3-D television business to take on South Korean rival Samsung Electronics Co.
