Maximum no. of advisers to prime minister to be doubled

TOKYO, Japan - Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama (2nd from R) and Ichiro Ozawa (2nd from L), secretary general of the ruling Democratic Party of Japan, attend a regular meeting to discuss government policies on Jan. 11, 2009, at the prime minister's office. Senior government officials and ruling DPJ leaders decided to double the maximum number of advisers to the prime minister from the current five to 10 as part of efforts to enhance politicians' initiative in the decision-making process.
