JAL to file for court protection
TOKYO, Japan - Japan Airlines Corp. staffers work at a JAL international fight transfer counter at Narita airport, east of Tokyo, on Jan. 19, 2010. The company is expected to file for bankruptcy protection later in the day, in what may be the biggest nonfinancial corporate failure in the country's postwar history, as the once-proud flagship carrier embarks on a government-led rehabilitation process.
