Okinawa poll result shows residents' verdict on Futemma: PM
TOKYO, Japan - Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama speaks to reporters in front of his official residence in Tokyo on Jan. 25, 2010, a day after Susumu Inamine, who is opposed to the construction of a new U.S. base in the northern Okinawa city of Nago to relocate the Futemma facility, won the Nago mayoral race. Hatoyama called the victory of Inamine a ''manifestation of the popular will.''
