Pro-DPJ candidate beats pro-LDP in doctors group head election
TOKYO, Japan - Katsuyuki Haranaka, head of the Ibaraki Medical Association who supports the ruling Democratic Party of Japan, speaks to reporters in Tokyo on April 1, 2010, after being elected as president of the Japan Medical Association. Haranaka beat incumbent president Yoshihito Karasawa supporting the opposition Liberal Democratic Party and Yoichi Mori advocating a politically neutral stance, in the three-man election.
