S. Korea holds antisubmarine drill off Taean
SEOUL, South Korea - South Korean patrol ships take part in an antisubmarine drill off the western coast town of Taean in central South Chungcheong Province on May 27, 2010. The naval exercise, including the testing of antisubmarine weapons and other naval guns, took place as tensions are running high on the Korean Peninsula after a set of punitive measures in response to North Korea's sinking of a South Korean warship was announced by the South earlier this week, with the North responding by saying it would sever all ties with the South.
