U.S. military begins operating new Iwakuni runway

YAMAGUCHI, Japan - An airplane of the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force lands on a new runway at the U.S. Marine Corps' Iwakuni Air Station in Yamaguchi Prefecture on May 29, 2010. The U.S. military began operating the offshore runway at the base, which is jointly used by the MSDF, the same day.
