Yamaha Motor to market electric scooter from September

TOKYO, Japan - Yamaha Motor Co. will the ''Electric Commuter'' EC-03 scooter (photo) in Tokyo and its adjacent areas from September, with nationwide distribution starting the following month. Powered by Sanyo Electric Co. lithium-ion batteries, the eco-friendly scooter can travel for a maximum of about 43 kilometers on a single battery charge of roughly six hours.
