PM Kan takes to streets as DPJ leadership vote nears

TOKYO, Japan - Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan (C), government revitalization minister Renho (L) and welfare minister Akira Nagatsuma (R) raise their hands in response to crowds in Tokyo after Kan's speech on Sept. 11, 2010, ahead of the ruling Democratic Party of Japan leadership election on Sept. 14, 2010. Kan called for party unity and alluded to his opponent former DPJ Secretary General Ichiro Ozawa's wheeling-and-dealing style of politics.
