CHINA-SHANGHAI-LINGANG NEW AREA-HYDROGEN POWERED BUSES (CN)

(221216) -- SHANGHAI, Dec. 16, 2022 (Xinhua) -- A staff member refuels a public bus at a hydrogen refueling station in Lingang new area of Pudong New Area in east China's Shanghai, Dec. 15, 2022. As a demonstrative zone for commercial operation of hydrogen fuel cell-powered vehicles in Shanghai, Lingang new area has walked an extra mile since early 2022 to put more hydrogen fuel cell-powered public buses into practical service and to date 66 units of its kind are now running on the roads there. U.S. carmaker Tesla Inc. officially launched its new mega factory project that is capable of producing 10,000 Megapacks a year in Shanghai, the company announced. A signing ceremony for land acquisition of the project was held on Friday morning in Shanghai, marking the official opening of what the company said a "milestone project." The new project is scheduled to break ground in the first quarter of 2024 and start production in the fourth quarter.
