Japan to free Chinese boat captain

TOKYO, Japan - Photo shows Zhan Qixiong, skipper of a Chinese fishing boat being transferred from a coast guard office to the public prosecutors office in Okinawa Prefecture on Sept. 9, 2010. He was arrested by the Japan Coast Guard after his boat collided with Japanese coastguard vessels near the disputed Senkaku Islands, administered by Japan but also claimed by China and Taiwan, on Sept. 8 but the Naha District Public Prosecutors Office decided to release him on Sept. 24.
