UNESCO designates Okinawa dance as intangible heritage
NAHA, Japan - Performers of Kumi Odori, a traditional dance form, celebrate on Nov. 18, 2010, in Urasoe, Okinawa Prefecture, after the U.N. Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization designated the dance as an Intangible Cultural Heritage. Kumi Odori, which literally means ''combination dance,'' is a music and dance performance originating in the island prefecture.
