Akihabara pedestrian zone reopened
TOKYO, Japan - People including local officials cut the ribbon during a ceremony to mark the reopening of a section of a vehicle-free pedestrian zone in Tokyo's Akihabara electronics district on Jan. 23, 2011. The pedestrian zone was closed after a man drove a truck into shoppers in June 2008, hitting and killing three men, and then fatally stabbed four people and left 10 others injured.
