Mandarin ducks resting
YONAGO, Japan - Mandarin ducks rest on a riverside in the town of Hino in Tottori Prefecture, western Japan, on Feb. 1, 2011. The orange feathers of the male ducks are at their brightest in the early part of the year. Around one thousand Mandarin ducks were spotted the same day on and around the Hino River, where they spend the winter before flying north.
