KYOTO, Japan - ''Maiko,'' or apprentice geisha, take part in the seasonal ceremony of Setsubun in Kyoto on Feb. 2, 2011. In the traditional ceremony held around Feb. 3, which marks the division between winter and spring on the calendar, participants scatter beans to drive demons away and invite good luck.
