Kan inspects Defense Ministry

TOKYO, Japan - Prime Minister Naoto Kan (R) leaves the Defense Ministry after inspecting it on March 28, 2011. During a meeting of the ministry's disaster task force the same day, Kan ordered the Self-Defense Forces to brace themselves for a prolonged mission of relief and reconstruction following the March 11 earthquake and tsunami that devastated part of Japan and crippled a nuclear power plant.
