3-day intensive search begins
ISHINOMAKI, Japan - Members of the Okayama prefectural police search for people missing since the March 11, 2011, tsunami in northeastern Japan, in an inundated area in Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture, on April 1, the first day of a three-day intensive search the Japanese Self-Defense Forces and the U.S. military are conducting for those still missing three weeks after the devastating disaster. Members of the Japanese police, the Japan Coast Guard and fire departments are also taking part.
