Diet session extended for 70 days
TOKYO, Japan - Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan (R standing) bows during a Diet session in Tokyo on June 22, 2011, as the Democratic Party of Japan extended the ordinary Diet session for 70 days, despite resistance from major opposition parties, in a bid to pass bills vital for the rebuilding of areas devastated by the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.
